Learn how to view the macronutrients in a recipe.
You can view the macronutrients section of a recipe as described in this article.
Step 1: Open the recipe you want to edit as shown in this tutorial.
Step 2: Click on the Macronutrients tab.
Step 3: Click on one of the different options to review different aspects about the macronutrients in the recipe. You can change which macronutrients are displayed in the settings as shown here.
Macronutrient Summary
This view shows the total Energy, Protein, Carbs, and Fat in the recipe. You can also see values per 100 grams of your recipe, and per recipe serving.
You can also see a pie chart illustrating the energy distribution in the recipe per macronutrient.
Macronutrient Breakdown per Ingredient - Total
This view shows you the total Energy, Protein, Fat, and Carbs in your recipe contributed by each ingredient.
So, for instance, in this recipe example, butter is contributing 1577.4 Kcal in total. That's the amount if preparing the whole recipe as specified.
This view is useful to see where the calories, protein, fat, and carbs are coming from. For instance, most of the calories in this example come from butter, sugar, and flour. Whilst the little amount of protein in the recipe is provided by flour.
Eggs and yogurt are normally more protein-rich than flour, but given that this particular recipe has a high content in flour and relatively small content in eggs/yogurt, the actual protein is mainly present in flour in this case.
Macronutrient Breakdown per Ingredient - Amount per 100 grams
This view shows you the Energy, Protein, Fat, and Carbs per 100 grams of ingredient in your recipe.
So, for instance, in this recipe example, butter is contributing 717 Kcal per 100 grams.
This view is useful to compare ingredients when the quantity is the same for all of them. For instance, this view shows that eggs have the highest protein content per 100 grams out of all the ingredients, whilst sugar is 100% carbs.
Macronutrient Breakdown per Ingredient - Amount per serving
This view shows you the Energy, Protein, Fat, and Carbs per serving in your recipe; broken down by ingredient.
So, for instance, in this recipe example, butter is contributing 197.2 Kcal per serving. If the client prepares the recipe as specified and consumes a single serving, this table shows the breakdown of the nutrients they would
This view is useful to see the impact of each ingredient per serving, which is the intended amount of the recipe to be consumed.
