Learn how to create a recipe by searching the recipes database (advanced search).
You can use advanced search to find recipes in the database. This is useful when you are looking for something specific, i.e. a recipe matching certain nutrient ranges. For simple searches, you can follow this article. For advanced search, please read on.
You can click here to open the recipes advanced search page. Alternatively, follow these steps.
Step 1: Log in to Mealplana at https://app.mealplana.com
Step 2: Click on Recipes
Step 3: Click the + button to create a new recipe.
Step 4: Select Search Database (Advanced Search) from amongst the options.
Step 5: Enter your query. The only required parameter is Recipe name. You can additionally optionally specify:
- ingredients to include/exclude
- cuisine
- diet
- intolerances
- equipment
- recipe type
- Maximum/Minimum amounts for a variety of nutrients
When ready, click on Search, or simply press enter in your keyboard after typing in any of the fields.
Step 6: The recipes result list will load up.
You can click on Go Back anytime if you want to refine your advanced search.
You can scroll down and click on Preview for any recipe that catches your eye. When using advanced search, the results list provides a few more parameters in the results view versus simple search.
When you find a suitable recipe, click on Select. This will load it up in Mealplana and save it. You will then be able to edit it.
