In this article: How to check the Daily Recommended Intake and Tolerable Upper Level for micronutrients in a meal plan
When you create a meal plan and assign it to a client, you will then be able to review:
- Daily Recommended Intake (DRI) for several micronutrients
- Percentage of micronutrient in a plan versus the DRI
- Tolerable Upper Level (TUL) for multiple nutrients
For reference of where the DRI/TUL values come from, check this article in NutriAdmin.
To review DRI/TUL data for a client in a meal plan, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the micronutrients section of your meal plan as explained here
Step 2: Select either Micronutrient Daily Average or Micronutrient Summary per Day. Those are the two options where DRI/TUL data will be available.
Step 3: If a client has not been assigned to the meal plan yet, you will see a yellow warning message as shown below. You can click the Edit client button in that case and assign a client to the plan.
In addition to assigning a client record, the client must have data filled in for:
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Pregnancy (optional)
This is because DRIs are dependent on age, gender, and pregnancy status.
Step 4: Once a client with valid life stage data is assigned, the micronutrients table will display DRI/TUL data as shown below.
Micronutrients where the amount in the meal plan is lower than 50% of the DRI will be highlighted in yellow, whilst nutrients where the plan contains an amount higher than the TUL will be displayed in red.
